Photography runs in my blood — literally. My great grandfather ran a portrait studio, and I've had a camera in my hand ever since I was a kid. I even have the photo to prove it.

I've spent decades shooting wildlife across multiple continents, and for the past twenty-plus years I've been bringing a well-traveled eye to America's incredible wild places.

PhotoWild Gear was born out of hard-won experience — every lens decision, every dawn stakeout, every mistake a wildlife photographer can make in the field. I started this blog to share what actually works, so you spend less time figuring it out and more time capturing the wild.
